Oil Change Capacity. I just bought a 2014 CRF 250L and am changing the oil on it. After filling it back up, the oil level on the indicator glass was directly in the middle of the 2 reference lines after only putting about 1.4 L of oil back in. That seems low to me. I am reading online that the capacity is 1.8 L. The drawbacks are: more weight and a wider tank. If longer trips outweigh the negatives, then a larger gas tank may be one of the best mods for your CRF250L. Posted March 27, 2015. Check your manual. Engine side with new oil filter should be 870cc and transmission should be 750cc. Once you fill up your engine side run the engine for a minute until warm then check dipstick level without screwing in the dipstick. If it's in between the lines or higher you're good on oil but shoot for the top line.
