The M2 was introduced in June 2022 with the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro. Apple later added the M2 as an option for the Mac mini in January 2023, and a new 15-inch MacBook Air in June 2023The 15" does have a quad core processor instead of a dual core, but I don't notice much difference for the coding I do. I just go into settings and use the largest scaling option the 13" has and that works great for me. The 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro has been replaced by a 14-inch M3 MacBook Pro and it is a good option if you are on a budget, although we do suggest you upgrade to 16GB RAM at the
The MacBook Air has a larger screen — 13.6 inches vs. the Pro’s 13.3. (This means the Air’s resolution is technically slightly higher, but it’s not really noticeable.)
The new MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1, 2020) is one of the most exciting laptops Apple has ever made for designers. This is because, unlike with previous models, which used Intel hardware for the processor and integrated graphics (or AMD graphics cards in the larger 15– and 16-inch models), this new MacBook Pro is powered by Apple’s very own M1 chip.
However, this price range is a far cry from the starting price of the M2-equipped MacBook Air ($1,199) as well as that of the most recent 13-inch MacBook Pro ($1,299) and M1 MacBook Air from 2020
