Long term review of my 2013 BMW 328i X-Drive. Questions answered: 1. What is an F30?2. What are some common issues/quirks with the F30?3. What should you own
I BOLDED your "same trouble" statement above to make a point (at your expense ;-) "NO CRANK" situations are common, but there are literally DOZENS / Hundreds of possible causes. OP had a 2007 328i built BEFORE 3/2007, which had different JB Fuse Panel & E-box Contents from your 2008.
yup. i found this thread after my 2014 328d just died while driving. as if the devil himself smote me. BMW Vista, CA says High Pressure Fuel Pump failure cause metal shavings to be distributed throughout the entire fuel system. $12,000. I purchased in 2017 as a Certified Pre-Owned.

I owned a 2008 BMW 328i and at 55k one month after warranty has expired the AC stopped working. AC condenser was leaking and had to be replaced. BMW quoted just under $3000 to repair this issue. After talking to BMW mechanics I found out that this is a common and ongoing problem especially in warm climates.

BMW dealers have increased their service costs; oil changes were $75-85, now they want to charge $100's , so I've switched to independent service place where they charge $80-90.

Step 1 — Gain Access to The Engine. Gaining access to the ignition coils on the BMW E46 and the newer F30 328i is fairly simple. You only need to remove the engine cover, which you can do with the help of a socket wrench. The process is a little more comprehensive with the E90 generation.
The tech told me that my serpentine belt was slipping off due to a defective belt tensioner - the belt has about 1-2mm hanging over edge of top pulley. The tech says the belt tensioner pulley frame is bending and that this was a known defect but BMW won't recognize it. Only recourse is to replace the entire belt tensioner pulley and frame assembly. Basically oil and coolant leaks, lol. The timing chain is mainly the big issue, but if they resolved it like you said, then basically leaks. Almost all BMWs leak eventually, though, so it’s just regular maintenance and basically having your car inspected for any possible replacement of hoses and such. Styhl1 • 1 yr. ago. 33,000 Miles on a 2013 N26. No issues whatsoever, but I have a Certified Pre-Owned BMW Warranty should anything arise. I keep an eye on the timing chain, but I'm extra picky. There must be half a dozen BMW's at work with the N20/26 and nobody I've talked to has has mentioned an engine issue yet. I see the same BMW's at work every day.
The BMW 328i and 320d on the road. To drive, however, both machines are largely faultless and utterly peerless. The 328i petrol engine is, sadly, no longer a straight-six but merely a 2.0-litre
Oil leak 328i 2013 help. Hey everyone. Bought a 2013 BMW 328i about a week ago. Got the oil smell and smoke coming from the back toward the passenger side. Did the research, figured it was a VCG and had it replaced. Car continued to smoke (not as bad) and still had that smell occasionally. I chalked it up to residual oil burning off, but it
